Hey everyone! You may be wondering what type of site you’ve stumbled upon, so let me explain:
First, a little about me: My name is Bob, and I live in central New Jersey, and I’m a huge baseball fan. I’ve loved the game since I went to my first game in 1976, Yankees-White Sox, with my father and my Cub Scout pack. I don’t remember much of it, but it obviously made same impact, because over 30 years later, I can’t get enough of the game.
That brings us to this blog and what it’s about. Major League games are becoming way too expensive for the average fan, but there are plenty of affordable minor league and independent league team in this area, but most people don’t know anything about them. That’s where I come in.
There are 7 teams in New Jersey, and 2 in nearby New York. My plan is to visit all 9, and give you all the information you need to know, and some of the stuff you don’t need to know. We’ll post stats about the games, because what’s baseball without statistics? On the days in between, we’ll post news from the teams, upcoming events, and things of that nature.
We’ll be doing a lot of updates over the next few days, so bookmark us or subscribe to our RSS feed. You can share us with your friends by using one of the icons below. I’d do it now, so you can tell your friends that you were into thesummerofglove.net before I sold out.
If you have suggestions or comments, send email to bob at thesummerofglove dot net.
Yay! Baseball! How many shares can I get? Get blowed up!
